The main tasks of this project include supervising, verification and providing technical support for the “Pollution improvement project and pollution improvement task(A,B,C) for the farmland soil pollution control sites near the Tieshan, Jiali irrigation district and the Dong-Xi Second Waterway irrigation district at Changhua County, Taiwan”. We have played a fair role in supervising the improvement of the heavy metal polluted soil sites to meet the soil quality standards for agriculture land. There are 106 ha of polluted farmland to be cleaned up. For the technical support, our tasks were to establish the standard operational procedures for the inspection of the soil pollution control sites, for the schedule management system for the clean-up works, and for decommission the control site once it is cleaned up. So far, there are 102.98 ha of polluted land been cleaned up and verified. Out of them, 102.98 ha has been approved via verification samples which analyzed all the six required heavy metal items. For technical support works, we have completed: (1) formulate the SOP for the inspection of the project sites, and have completed 16 inspections, (2) planning and implementing the project management systems, (3) farmland control sites management in Changhua County, (4) hold 32 project conferences, and (5) the assigned tasks by Changhua EPB.
